You must be aware that the Union Inn situated on the corner of the Union Street and Brewery Street has been shut for some time now. I just came across a piece of news stating that it is still unclear if this pub would be opening up or not.
Robinson has revealed that while they had no plans to reopen The Britannia Inn in Penny Bridge, they will reopen the Union Inn if a new licensee has been appointed. That is something to watch out for if you enjoyed visiting this pub in the past. However, things do not look good for The Britannia Inn as it has been on sale since February this year.
According to Robinson, a new planning application would be submitted to the officials to convert this pub into a private accommodation.
